Ikebana Class for International Children
Offered in Cooperation with the Agency of Cultural Affairs

The Association for Japan-U.S. Community Exchanges (ACE) is delighted to announce a unique opportunity for foreign children of all ages to learn the art of “IKEBANA,” Japanese traditional flower arrangement, through the support of the Ikebana Nihon Kadouin.

The organization commented:


“We hope children can deepen their understanding of Japanese traditional culture, IKEBANA.”


It is planned to hold the class 9 times in Fiscal 2007, beginning from June. The location of the class is at the Kitazawa Town Hall (in Shimokitazawa), approximately a 5-minute walk from Shimokitazawa Station (Odakyu and Inokashira train lines).

Participant Qualifications:

  • Child (5-15 years old)
  • Gender (coed, boys and girls both welcome)
  • Attend international school in Japan
  • Open up to a maximum of 10 children per class
